Where does this octagonal shape come from? Why do we keep coming back to it? The success of the octagon is due to the fact that, when you combine the two most common watch shapes, circle and rectangle, you get an octagon. The octagon is thus a shape born of the combination of two elementary forms, and in this sense it embodies the idea of the future.
